Ok, so in the post before this one, There is a video of me (and my itchy eye) showing off the goggles I made. Here’s a bit of an explanation.

First you need to know about “steampunk”: a fashion based off an imaginary world set in a post-apocalypse/Victorian era. Most machinery is run by clockwork and/or steam. The world is populated by renegade inventors, towering steam powered war machines and robots.
And let us not forget airships and dirigibles (look it up)

It is not steam punk I’m attracted to, but rather the making of interesting gadgets and the Do-it-yourself aspect of the fashion. Plus goggles are awesome.

Truth be told, I think the whole “STEAM PUNK” scene is a bit silly. Steam punk bands sound more like goth bands, and they dress in full Victorian costume like metal bands of old. Plus, the fashion is based entirely off an imaginary world.

But I’m not averse to keeping the odd top hat or pair of goggles in my wardrobe.

This new video series is a spoof on steampunk, and also a way to show off my steampunk creations.

Hey, who says I can’t make fun of it AND enjoy it?

Wait, I can explain…

July 18, 2008

Tell me this doesn’t look ultra romantic. high above the city, the sun setting, silhouetting two figures gazing out upon a desert sunset.

When my mother and sister noticed this pic on my desktop, I felt inclined to explain that yes, there were other people on the roof with us, and no, we were not holding hands. We were simply sitting on the pillar because the other option would have been standing, and we’d been walking for a good part of the day. The photo is great though!
